Alexander (Sandy) Smart has over 30 years experience of the venture capital and private equity industry. Sandy first joined 3i in the late 1970s where he gained early experience of investment in the SME sector. He then focused on technology investments with Barclays Development Capital before joining CVC as a Director investing in MBOs across all industry sectors. Sandy also has significant operational experience having been CEO of a small engineering group. He has a degree in engineering and economics, an MBA and is a chartered engineer.
